Free agent cornerback Darrelle Revis has signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, the team announced Wednesday.

According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Revis' deal with the Chiefs is for two years, with the minimum this year and "no fully guaranteed money" in 2018. At the time, the veteran corner had three years left on a five-year deal that he signed with the Jets before the 2015 season. He excelled with the New York Jets under defensive coordinator Bob Sutton, who holds the same position now with the Chiefs.

"Darrelle is a proven player in this league and we are excited to add him to our secondary", Chiefs general manager Brett Veach said in a statement, per the team's website.

Revis, who is a seven-time Pro Bowl selection, last played for the New York Jets in 2016 before being released in the offseason.

The Kansas City Chiefs added some intrigue to this weekend's game against the Bills. Over his 10-year career, Revis has 29 interceptions, 483 tackles, two sacks, six forced fumbles and 11 fumble recoveries. He said he envisions Revis as a starter when he does get up to full speed and the Chiefs are hopeful that his full speed is close enough to his best days that their defense takes a step forward for the stretch run.
