Per Adrian Wojnarowski and Dave McMenamin of ESPN, Derrick Rose has been away from the Cleveland Cavaliers "for the better part of a week" and is evaluating his National Basketball Association future.
While Rose put up 18.0 points per game with the Knicks last season, representing his best production since 2011-12, injuries continue to hamper him.

- Injured point guard Derrick Rose has been excused from the Cavaliers to handle a personal matter.
Rose's career became one of great promise to one that's been marred by injuries, playing in only 237 out of a possible 412 regular-season games. One week ago, the Cavaliers released a formal statement regarding the matter saying that Rose's progress would be reevaluated in two weeks. Right now, it's just a jacked-up ankle. He was also required to wear a walking boot for the first week of that timeline.
On Oct. 20 Rose went down with an ankle injury in a Cavaliers win over the Bucks. "So I'll wear this, for I don't know how long, to see how it helps".
Rose has appeared in seven games this season and is averaging 14.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest while shooting 47.0 percent from the field.
