Any snow we get would likely stick, with temperatures falling back toward lows in the mid-20s to near 30. Most of the time the snow has been light with a few bursts of moderate snow. This will also make for slippery travel through the middle part of the morning at least. We get more serious about the colder weather next week. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Today (Wednesday): Cold and windy is the story today, despite mostly sunny skies through much of the day.
An approaching cold front on Friday will boost temperatures to the upper 40s to mid-50s.
Met Office forecaster Greg Dewhurst said: "It turns cold again from Friday in a northwesterly flow". As was the case this morning, the best chance for the snow will be south of Boston and it would be a limited event with a coating to an inch at best. The warming trend will be short-lived as temperatures take a nose dive toward the Christmas Holiday Weekend. Clouds break enough for sunshine to warm temperatures close to 40 degrees. Behind the next system, colder air is ready to rush back in for Wednesday.
SUNDAY: Cloudy skies and rain showers develop, with a high of 47 degrees.
TUESDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy skies and cold temperatures continue, with a low of 33 degrees.
Saturday: Sun and clouds.
Friday will be mild and dry under sunny skies. Highs still near freezing. Out next disturbance will be moving through on Sunday which could produce some snow showers or a rain/snow mix.
