In addition, their teenage daughter went a high school soccer coach a week before she was found in New York State with the coach.
The Columbia County soccer coach Rian Rodriguez, who investigators said ran off with 17 year old Caitlyn Frisina, waived an extradition hearing and is cooperating with law enforcement after the pair was found in NY on Friday.
Frisina and her family were reunited in Syracuse on Saturday and returned home Sunday. Police said they found footprints outside of the teen's home, and she appears to have left through a window.
Her father, who coaches at the same school as Rodriguez, struggled to find the words to express his relief.
The affidavit also said that Frisina's high school investigated a rumor in August that the teen and Rodriguez were in a relationship but ultimately concluded it was false. The teen's friend later revealed to the anxious parents that Frisina had previously "hooked up" with Rodriguez, the affidavit stated.

Officials say the 17-year-old girl sneaked out of her home in Fort White, Florida, on November 25.
Hunter said a sharp-eyed NY state trooper spotted the vehicle Caitlyn and Rodriguez were traveling in as he was headed home from a shift spent working on a task force that was looking for the pair. Cops say they revealed explicit exchanges between her and Rodriguez.
"We're looking forward to a lot more time together", her mother, Scarlet Frisina, said.
Caitlyn told her friend that she was "scared and didn't know what to do", police said. He faces the charge of interference with child custody, a third-degree felony, in Florida.
Rodriguez was arrested and is being held in Onondaga County on a fugitive warrant, according to Syracuse.com. That was the teen's last known location, Smith said.
