Canadian Blood Services reports an urgent need for blood donations - and Charlottetown Mayor Clifford Lee is urging Islanders to roll up their sleeves now.
CBS is calling on eligible donors to help fill 35,000 appointments by January 6 to ensure that Canadian patients continue to have access to the blood and blood products they need over the holidays.
"It can be tough during the holiday season to take an hour to give blood", said Rick Prinzen, chief supply chain officer for the CBS.

Clinics will be held at the Pictou Armouries from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 2, and at Summer Street Industries on Wednesday, Jan. 3, from noon to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m., as well as Thursday, Jan. 4, from noon to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Their "Pay it Forward" blood-drive is collecting donations all month for this cause.
