Nine bodies were recovered and one person was found alive on Saturday after they were buried under snow following an avalanche in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district.
Deputy Commissioner Khalid Jehangir told news gathering agency GNS that two more bodies were recovered in the afternoon.
The death toll due to the avalanche had reached 11 persons, the DC said, while stating that the rescue operation was nearly over in the area. Search teams rescued a child from the vehicle while six other passengers were missing.
