The first return for NBA All-Star voting has been released and three Thunder players are now in the mix in the Western Conference.
Antetokounmpo received 863,416 votes to edge James (856,080) by almost 7,500 votes for the top spot in the Eastern Conference and overall after the first 12 days of balloting. The second (LeBron James) and third vote getters (Kyrie Irving) are both in the Eastern Conference, while Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry are fourth and fifth, respectively, in total votes so far.
Antetokounmpo and James were followed by Philadelphia center Joel Embiid for most votes among frontcourt players, while former Cav Kyrie Irving (802,834) and Toronto's DeMar DeRozan (259,368) were the leading guards.
Under the NBA's new voting process, the two top vote getters in each conference - now Antetokounmpo and Durant - will select rosters from a player pool.
The starters will be revealed January 18.

There's always intrigue when it comes to the National Basketball Association players that get the highest number of All-Star Game votes.
Like previous seasons, the starters will be determined by the fan vote (50 percent) as well as a vote among current players and media (25 percent each).
After all votes are tallied, players will be ranked in each conference by position (guard and frontcourt) within each of the three voting groups - fan votes, player votes and media votes.
There will be three frontcourt players and two guards chosen for each starting lineup, meaning Embiid now has a decent chance of starting in the game. Rockets fans, it's time to start voting. Voting will conclude at 10:59 p.m. To submit a vote, the user can open the skill with, "Alexa, open NBA All-Star", and then request to vote for his or her player of choice.
