KXIP vs KKR Live Score

As Sony prepares to update three of its low to mid-range offerings - Xperia XA, XA Ultra, and L1 - leaks are happening fast.

Sony will nearly certainly announce the Xperia XA2 series and the Xperia L2 in the near future - either at CES 2018 (January 9 - 12), or at MWC 2018 (February 26 - March 1). The side bezels, though, appear much thinner.

Currently, more details are known about the two new XA series models - a lineup entering its third iteration, following 2016's XA and 2017's XA1 pairings - thanks to specs revealed through the GFXBench benchmark. Another biggest change is the transition from the MediaTek chip to Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC.

The most interesting change sees Sony drop its long-running power button fingerprint sensor for a circular rear scanner under the camera lens. The Sony XA2 is rumored to get a 21MP rear-facing camera paired with a 7MP front-facing camera, and the Xperia XA2 Ultra will reportedly have a 21MP rear camera along with a pair of 15MP front-facing cameras.

While both models' memory configurations should remain static as well (4GB / 64GB and 3GB / 32GB RAM and storage for the XA2 Ultra and XA2, respectively), they do look to be getting refreshed imaging components. That's an upgrade from the Sony Xperia XA1's 5-inch 720p display. In terms of software, the Xperia L2 will ship with the older Android Nougat OS out of the box instead of 8.0 Oreo on the Xperia XA2 duo.

Sony doesn't seem bothered as well to jump on the bandwagon of using full view display, the XA2 is still using the same 5.2-inch display, same goes to the L2 and the XA2 Ultra is using a 6-inch display, leaving quite a lot of space at the top and bottom.

There's speculation that Sony will introduce these new smartphones at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show up next week, or decide to hold it off until the MWC 2018 in February.
