In a new blog post on the official PUBG website, game creator Brendan "PlayerUnknown" Greene laid out a development roadmap for what new features and content PUBG Corp. will add to the game in the coming months, including a new map and emote system. New vehicles and new weapon attachments are also on deck, and should show up sometime this year as well.
Game Highlights functionality is also being integrated into PUBG, alongside features for reporting unsporting players, improvements to audio, updated vehicle penetration to enable players to target specific parts of a vehicle rtaher than simply wittling down its health bar.
A few months after it left beta, PUBG announces its 2018 update roadmap meant to improve the quality of gameplay for the battle royale shooter. New weapons and vehicles are also in the pipeline along with different game modes.
You can expect an overhaul to the entire animation system for both third and first-person gameplay, making both options feel "smoother and more reactive to the environment", and the overhaul should have particularly notable effects on the parachute and melee combat systems. We've worked hard over the past 2 years to build a good foundation for the most realistic Battle Royale experience out there.
Naturally, Greene says work will continue on the optimization and stability of PUBG's game client and servers, as well as the never-ending battle to detect and ban cheaters.

On the subject of esports, Greene says that much work is left to be done, but the 3D replay system is "key" to allowing organizations to provide better coverage of a competitive match.
For competitive PUBG players, the team is already working on improving the current MMR ranking system and matchmaking.
"Seriously, we are not there yet, but we will be", the post starts by saying.
This year the PUBG Developer Portal will be opened up to the community which gives access to the PUBG Developer API allowing the community to track match data and allow the community to create new resources for the game. Coming in at nearly a quarter of the size of Erangel, this map promises "higher player density and shorter matches" with a faster-paced, more chaotic experience.
Nevertheless, PUBG players now have a document with which to hold PUBG Corp. accountable and PUBG Corp. has made public their plans to keep fans happy.
