Surveillance video of that alleged encounter was released on Monday, where a woman said to be Riess is seen smiling and talking to the woman believed to be Hutchinson.
Detectives came to the conclusion that Hutchinson had been targeted because of how she looked and named Lois Riess as a person of interest in the investigation.
Riess is also wanted for the March slaying of husband David Riess in Minnesota.
Authorities says Reiss left southwest Florida and traveled to corpus Christi, Texas.
"She smiles and looks like anyone's mother or grandmother", Lee County Undersheriff Carmine Marceno told NBC News.
The Dodge County Attorney's Office is preparing second-degree murder charges against Reiss for the killing of her husband and "we anticipate those charges to be filed within the next few days", Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose said in a statement.
Investigators said that Riess stole her credit cards, cash and auto.

PSG clinch fifth Ligue 1 title in six years by thrashing Monaco
PSG were in ruthless form on Monday (AEST), as they obliterated the defending champions to regain the title in style. Lopes tapped in Almamy Toure's right-wing cross at the back post to pull one back for Monaco late in the first half.
But on the very last day of her trip, she met Riess and wrote on Facebook, "I'm staying another night".
As Riess criss-crosses the country in Hutchinson's Acura, investigators warn she is "armed and unsafe".
Anyone who has information on Riess' whereabouts is urged to contact the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension tip-line at 1-877-996-6222.
Police believe Riess killed both victims with the same gun, and may still have it. "That's really the only thing that could resonate with my system.it's just evil that flowed through".
Authorities are anxious that when Reiss runs out of resources she might kill again and say she has a history of gambling and addiction problems.
On April 9, police found Hutchinson shot to death at the condo.
Authorities also have said they suspect that after David Riess was killed, his wife transferred almost $10,000 from his business account into his personal account and then forged his signature on three checks to herself for $11,000. "Riess' mode of operation is to befriend women who resemble her and steal their identity".
