His next court appearance is July 30, when he'll likely learn if he's been indicted. These are the first criminal charges against Mr Weinstein, who already faces a raft of civil lawsuits. Women and a few men have publicly accused powerful men in business, government and entertainment of unwanted sexual behavior or sexual abuse.

The rape charge relates to a woman who was not identified.
