The controversial right-wing filmmaker and pundit Dinesh D'Souza told Fox & Friends that President Trump urged him to "be a bigger voice than ever" in a call informing him he'll be pardoned for his felony conviction over making illegal campaign contributions.
Blagojevich was convicted of corruption offenses including soliciting bribes for appointment to the U.S. Senate seat Obama vacated after being elected president in 2008.
D'Souza, Blagojevich and Stewart had been convicted of such crimes as campaign-finance violations or lying to investigators-charges similar to those brought against Flynn, former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and other Trump associates indicted in special counsel Robert S. Mueller III's Russian Federation investigation.
The US leader later said he was also considering commuting the sentence of Rod Blagojevich, a former IL governor jailed for corruption, and Stewart, the celebrity chef jailed for five months in 2004-05 for making false statements in an insider trading case. Trump and Stewart later had a falling out, leading to public quarrels between the two reality stars. The judge who presided over his case ruled he had produced "no evidence" to back up that assertion.
Noting that Trump required Bharara to step down as US attorney, D'Souza added: "KARMA IS A BITCH DEPT: @PreetBharara wanted to destroy a fellow Indian American to advance his career". "Giuliani mentioned her case when discussing why they refuse an interview".
On Thursday, D'Souza thanked Trump in Twitter posts that also slammed Bharara.

His case has been a cause for some conservatives, who say D'Souza was targeted for his caustic, sometimes racist, criticism of former President Barack Obama and his wife.

The surprise pardon comes as the the Trump administration pushes criminal justice reform.
This year, in March, he pardoned former Navy sailor Kristian Saucier, who was convicted of taking photos of classified portions of a USA nuclear submarine. He also said he might pardon lifestyle guru Martha Stewart, who served time for lying to investigators about a stock sale.
