Cathleen Taff, Disney's head of domestic distribution, told Variety, "We are really thrilled about the results". While those numbers still fall far below the studio's blockbusters from earlier this year, Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, they prove that there is still an audience for these beloved title characters played by Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily, even if it's not quite as big as other MCU hits.
Also in the top five is Sony's "Sicario: Day of the Soldado". The Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin-led sequel picked up another US$7.6 million, taking the domestic tally to US$35 million. The documentary focusing on the life and career of Whitney Houston holds an A CinemaScore and a Rotten Tomatoes average of 90 percent.
