Those opting for the most expensive "Premium" plan now get access to content in 4K Ultra HD and the ability to view on four screens at once.
Aside from HDR support that would of course require compatible hardware, there are no other new features in the Ultra plan.

What's more, the new tier will bring the monthly price of the service's membership up a bit higher.
The Netflix Ultra plan is a somewhat misleading one. Notably, the Standard tier would also get to one stream from two. As for the Premium tier, it will continue to remain priced at 13.99 Euros but reduce the simultaneous device streaming limit to 2 screens. Premium is £10 a month, lets you watch in 4K, and on four screens at any given time. Should Premium users want to increase this back up to four, they'll have to opt for the more expensive Ultra tier, which has all of Premium's other benefits including 4K playback. Now this plan has not officially launched yet, but Netflix is currently testing it as an option for some subscribers.

In a statement given to CNET, a Netflix spokesperson said that they "continuously test new things at Netflix and these tests typically vary in length of time".
It's unclear how far Netflix intends to develop its new tier, though the streaming service has confirmed the tests are taking place. This essentially means that Netflix Premium users will have to upgrade to the more expensive Ultra tier to maintain the same level of service. Cord Cutting reports that the price changes depending on the browser that is used.
HDR is the latest technology to arrive in TVs and creates a wider gamut of colours, allowing for a more vivid image and better contrast.
