Tropical Storm Isaac, which passed between the Caribbean island nations of Dominica and Martinique late Wednesday and early Thursday, is now moving nearly due west across the eastern Caribbean Sea.
At 5 p.m., Isaac was located near 15.4N 56.6W or about 250 miles (400 km) east-north east of Barbados.
Met Eireann has said that it will continue to monitor the situation surrounding the landing of ex-tropical Storm Helene, which is expected to hit Ireland early next week.
SURF: Swells generated by Isaac will begin to affect portions of the Lesser Antilles this afternoon. The storm has 45 miles per hour sustained winds with higher-speed gusts.
Forecasters say Florence is expected to blow ashore late Thursday or early Friday, then slow down and dump 1 to 2½ feet of rain that could cause flooding well inland and wreak environmental havoc by washing over industrial waste sites and hog farms.
On Sunday alone there will be about two inches of rainfall.
"The deepest water will occur along the immediate coast in areas of onshore winds, where the surge will be accompanied by large and destructive waves", the NHC said. This rainfall may cause unsafe flash flooding.

Support for Russia's Ruling Party Slips in Regional Elections Amid Pension Protests
In Saint Petersburg, a largely young crowd of around 1,000 people shouted "shame" and held signs calling for Putin's resignation. United Russia also lost ground to the Communist Party and LDPR in some areas in weekend elections to regional parliaments.
"There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect", said the NHC in its 11 a.m. September 12 update. Some regions are expected to receive more than 20 inches of rain from the hurricane and its giant knot of storm clouds.
The National Hurricane Center is predicting the storm will produce "catastrophic flash flooding and significant river flooding".
"Current indications are that (ex-) tropical storm Helene will approach Ireland's south coast during Tuesday".
"The rain's going to be around for a long time", he said.
It's a detail that almost got lost among all the wind, rain and storm surge data sent out by the National Hurricane Center on Wednesday.
Hurricane Florence was only 10 miles east of Wilmington, N.C., as it approached landfall early Friday morning, according to the National Hurricane Center.
A remarkable satellite image shows Hurricane Florence in the Atlantic is one of just nine potentially unsafe storms now circling around the world.
