To kickstart Project Stream, Google's looking for people in the U.S.to test drive the service with the opportunity to play Assassin's Creed Oddysey for free starting October 5 and going through mid-January.

If Google manages to crack the code on browser-based game streaming, through the most-used web browser in the U.S., it could have massive implications on the gaming industry. This isn't the first streaming platform announced for Assassin's Creed Odyssey, as a cloud version of the game was announced for the Nintendo Switch in Japan. Anyone looking to try out the service must be a United States resident and at least 17 years old to participate. However, Google recommends a home internet connection of at least 25 megabits per second.
But there's a little more to streaming a game than a movie. Still, you can register for access to Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Project Stream today, if you're feeling lucky.
This footage of Odyssey played in Chrome lacks some crispness we'd normally expect from a typical console or PC experience, but for streaming, I think the image quality looks acceptable.
